Case history

A 45 year old male noticed a firm nodule on the left upper arm. The nodule is 1.5 cm in diameter. CD34 is negative.  Smooth muscle actin is focally positive.


 

  Low power view of the lesion. The dermal lesion is extending to the subcutis.
 
  High power view of a spindle cell lesion in the dermis.
 
  High power view of the cellular lesion surrounded by collagen fibres.
 
  Further section of the cellular lesion. The plump cells are arranged in whorls and fascicles. Collagen fibres are prominent. Mitotic figures are present.
