Case history

A 30 year old male with a dome shaped nodule on the forehead.

The tumour is S100 protein negative. Smooth muscle actin is positive.


 

  Low power view of the lesion which is confined to the dermis.
 
   The tumour is composed of fascicles of spindle shaped cells.
 
  This section of the same tumour shows plump epithelioid cells with vesicular nuclei.
 
  Section from the small myxoid area of the tumour. Some spindle cells show pleomorphism.
 
Further section of the tumour showing plump spindle cells.
 
Smooth muscle actin is positive.
