Case history

A 35 year old male with well-defined, smooth nodules on the dorsum of the left hand. ? Dermatofibroma.


 

  Image 1- Low power view. There is epidermal atrophy and a subepidermal grenz zone. The lesion is present in the dermis.
 
 Image 2- Low power view of the lesion confined to the dermis.
 
 Image 3- There is a mixture of spindle cells and some polygonal shaped plump cells together with numerous macrophages.
 
 Image 4-  Further section showing interlacing plump spindle cells set in a collagenous backround. Some prominent inflammatory cells are present together with macrophages.
